KUIU’s Storm Star 2 person tent is designed specifically for mountain hunters looking for the ultimate in 4 season, all weather protection. Light enough to haul anywhere and durable enough to trust in the middle of nowhere when there is no backup plan.  Storm Star features a double intersecting hoop pole design with a crossing vestibule pole.  This pole configuration maximizes stability and structural integrity against the stiffest winds and weather. Poles on the exterior of the tent fly allow for faster setup and takedown, so you can get out of the weather when you need to and maximize your time on the mountain. Connecting the tent fly and tent body eliminates the typical frustration with other tents when trying to attach the fly in high winds.

An asymmetric floor shape provides extra width at the head of the tent where it’s needed. Two large vestibules on either side of the Storm Star allow ample space for food preparation and to store, protect, and dry your gear during storms.  The bright orange rainfly is easy to see from a distance in low light or from a bush plane, while the brown model is stealth and blends into the high alpine environment like part of the scenery. If you need to go light, the tent body can be removed for fly-only or fly and footprint pitch.

The Storm Star is a great, bomb-proof tent when you need the added level of safety and protection from the elements.  This tent pitches tighter than a trampoline, so you won’t have any flapping in the wind to keep you up at night.  However, rain drops, hail, and the occasional pine needle falling are louder than normal on that drum-tight fly.  I don’t really mind it though because at least I know I’ll stay dry.  The Storm Star is extremely well built and thought out down to the smallest details.  It’s not the lightest tent, so I often prefer to take the 3 season Mountain Star, but when you need an ultra reliable shelter that can take about anything mother nature will throw at you, this is a great option you can trust!
